Hello guys, Luis here with WeTheGeek doing another con report. This time, I had the pleasure of attending Katuscon XX (20) which was being held in the Gaylord National Hotel and Convention Center. It happened to snow the night before I headed up there, but in typical Loco fashion, I didn’t let it stop me. Would you?

Panels: One of the panels I would like to give a shout out to is ‘Lose Your M.I.N.D.’ This panel was packed with breakdancers and freestylers showing some sick moves. With this panel, I met some awesome people and got myself interested in breakdancing. After I was done, I went on and paid the Invader Zim panel with Richard Horvitz and Rikki Simons a visit. The panel was amazing and got me geeking out, because I grew up with the duo of doom and I hope to see them return at future cons.

Maid cafe: There were a few changes made to the Maid Cafe this year. The two biggest ones being that unlike previous years, reservations were a must and they relocated the whole event to the Pienza. The advantage to the changes being there was more room to wiggle around and feel all of your kawaii desu feelings as well as having seating ready for you. Not only that, but the food was delicious. I highly recommend the Tonkatsu Bento and a slice of cherry cake for your next visit.ImageImageImage

Saturday Concert- Lolita Dark:  A band from Southern California, who rocked the house with their ‘Visual Kei’ style of music (Think David Bowie with any rock band from 83-93) as well as their rendition of The Attack on Titan opening song. Which, I might add, was pretty insane. It got the crowds going and rocking out. Make sure to use this shameless plug and check them out at https://www.facebook.com/lolitadarkmusicImage

Masquerade and Half Time:  The Holy Grail for Cons. All I can say is HOLY CRAP!! Every skit I saw was freaking amazing, but my all time favorite was the Godzilla vs. Mothra presentation. After that experience, you could put the skit on a loop and my spirit would still harlem shake. The halftime show didn’t disappoint either, I had goosebumps the entire time. The layout ended up being Johnny Benson playing to the themes of Doctor Who, while Mary Elizabeth Mcglynn (The voice of Major Motoko Kusanagi from Ghost In The Shell ) narrates the story, and DJ Jessie James provides the remix. Yeah, it was like that.

A very special thanks to Chad from press for allowing us to cover the con.
