Hey guys, Loco here with another quick con report. This year at AnimeUSA, it was pretty busy for me, but I’m getting better with each con I’m attending (hopefully).
Panels: so I checked out 6 amazing panels this year (my personal best) even though one of the panelist ended up not showing up, which was a bummer, but Loco’s Panel adventure continued. Out of all the Panels I visited, “How To Con” by Date Masamune was the breakthrough panel for me and was pretty much the complete guide for how other con goers can cut the cost of hotels, food, ect and we all know how the $$$$ can add up quickly. especially when it comes to essentials. great Information and an overall great panel. If you want more info on that panel as well as her awesome ramblings definitely check her out at http://www.fevryone.wordpress.com. There is one more panel I would like to talk about…… FURRY 101.
Yep. I been curious to check this out, and I’m glad I did because most furries are awesome people and from major t.v shows to online forums they often get treated like the “red-headed stepchild” of the fandom world for years, Without going into too much detail, (some things you just need to experience yourself) this past weekend I found out that anyone can be a furry and there is so much more to them and the fandom than meets the anthropomorphic eye. But I can say it definitely changed by outlook to the point that I will be checking out my first furry con in Hunt Valley MD (Furthemore)
Maid Cafe: No matter what con I’m attending, if its a feature there I always make my way to the land of kawaii desu dreams and frilly skirts known as the maid cafe. And with my good fortune, I always get a first year maid. This time I had the pleasure of having a chat with a lovely maid named Vivian. She was excited about participating in the cafe and was really enjoying her time indulging all of us with her obvious cuteness, as well as the delicious recommendation of Onigiri (Three rice balls each with a different delicious filling wasabi salmon, Tuna mayo and miso green onion.) Saturday Concert: Back-On: I was pretty stoked to check out Back-on again. And then they hit the stage, in which i died and went to JROCK heaven. They killed the stage with hit after hit, flawless performance from a flawless band. I’m still gushing with fan boy energy. I really cant wait to see them whenever they decide to come back to the US…especially if they bring new music with them. Check out the picture of the concert here. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.506865672738185.1073741831.409450252479728&type=3

Game Room: The guys from NGA never fail me with the game room. A game geek’s dream. I was in another slice of heaven. I’m glad they came back and with the Simpson game(yes i am an old school gamer) KEEP THEM COMING GUISE!!
Masquerade: This year, I was helping out my friends for a skit as a stage ninja, which BTW is an experience in itself, and surprisingly had a blast. (Hurray for my big stage debut XP) Overall, the masquerade ran very smooth and after watching the cosplay craftsmanship competition, and the dedication that these people put into heir art, it was a huge motivator for me to get some of these old creative juices flowing. hopefully in the near future i will be up there with them displaying my own work. Dont judge me, I can dream..
